The all-rounder’s return could spark MI’s playoff push in IPL 2026!
Will Jacks is back in the Mumbai Indians (MI) camp just in time for their hotly anticipated clash against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Thursday. After missing the first six matches of IPL 2026, Jacks was spotted training with the squad, adding much-needed versatility to a struggling MI side that’s won only two of its first six games.
The five-time champions are currently languishing in seventh place, and Jacks’ presence is expected to galvanise the team. Not just a solid batter, he can also turn his arm over in the middle overs, joining the likes of Mitchell Santner and Allah Ghazanfar in MI’s overseas spin arsenal. Given his recent stellar form in the ICC T20 World Cup, where he racked up 226 runs at a strike rate of over 175, MI fans have every reason to be optimistic.
Last season, Jacks contributed significantly with 233 runs and six wickets, making him a key player for MI. After a rough patch of four consecutive losses, MI managed a stunning 99-run victory over the Gujarat Titans, with Tilak Varma smashing an unbeaten 101. With both MI and CSK sharing the same points but CSK trailing on net run rate, this clash could be a pivotal moment for both teams in their playoff quests.
