West Indies Openers Dominate Again with Double Tons

Campbell and McKenzie set up massive opening stands in first-class action.

John Campbell and Kirk McKenzie are absolutely tearing it up in the revamped West Indies Championship! Just days after their sensational double-century stand, they nearly pulled off another in their latest clash against Jamaica. Campbell smacked 126 off just 158 balls, while McKenzie added a blistering 135 not out in a stunning 242-run opening partnership that took a mere 48.5 overs. Talk about setting the pace!

In the following match at Sabina Park, the duo continued their dominance. They raced to 202 runs in just 36.1 overs before Campbell fell narrowly short of a ton, scoring 96 off 111 balls. But McKenzie? He kept going, finishing with 114 off 146 balls. Jamaica managed to post a respectable 358-4 by the end of the day, but it was clear who was running the show.

Over in Antigua, Guyana's Matthew Nandu chipped in with a solid 54 as they concluded the day on 130-2 after bowling out the Windward Islands for just 151. Meanwhile, in North Sound, the Leeward Islands faced some serious bowling from Trinidad & Tobago's Anderson Phillip, who took 6-38, leaving them at a precarious 85-6 by stumps. This Championship is heating up, and we can't wait to see what these players do next!
