From 293-7 to 491, Permaul shines with bat and ball in innings victory.
Veerasamy Permaul just turned the game on its head! Coming in at No. 9, he smashed an unbeaten 82 off 114 balls, helping Guyana post a colossal total of 491 after a shaky start. With contributions from Matthew Nandu, Kemol Savory, and others, the batting lineup showed depth, but it was Permaul's late flourish that really sealed the deal.
Windward Islands had a moment of hope, reaching 293-7, but a whirlwind 46 from No. 10 Shamar Joseph and 37 from Nial Smith put Guyana firmly in control. Permaul added crucial partnerships for the last two wickets, stretching the lead to 340 runs before taking to the field with his bowling.
In the second innings, it was all about Gudakesh Motie and Permaul again, as they dismantled the Windward batting lineup. Motie took 5-51, while Permaul chipped in with 4-20, leaving Windward Islands reeling, with only Ackeem Auguste offering any resistance with a fighting 91. In the end, Guyana won by an innings and 141 runs, proving they're a force to be reckoned with this season!
