New faces and fresh appointments as Pakistan gears up for May Tests in Bangladesh.
Pakistan's cricket scene just got a shake-up! Sarfaraz Ahmed, the former captain, is stepping into the role of head coach for the two-match Test series against Bangladesh, set to kick off in May. Leading the charge is Shan Masood, with four fresh faces making their way into the squad: Abdullah Fazal, Amad Butt, Azan Awais, and Ghazi Ghori. Ghori brings some experience, having recently played in the ODI series against Bangladesh.
Star batter Babar Azam is back after being dropped from the ODI series, which should bolster the batting line-up. Joining Sarfaraz in the coaching setup are Asad Shafiq as the batting coach and Umar Gul as the bowling coach, adding a fresh perspective to the team. The PCB is running a red-ball conditioning camp in Lahore to prep the players ahead of the series, with five players currently in training.
The team is set to depart for Bangladesh on May 2, with the first Test scheduled in Dhaka from May 8 to 12, followed by a second in Sylhet from May 16 to 20. With the new appointments and fresh talent, can Pakistan deliver a series win?
