LSG’s batting order leaves fans scratching their heads after a heavy loss to PBKS.
Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) are in a tailspin, and Aakash Chopra isn’t holding back. After their 54-run drubbing at the hands of Punjab Kings (PBKS), he’s taken aim at their baffling batting strategy. Chasing a mammoth target of 255, LSG's decision to send Ayush Badoni to open was a head-scratcher. This isn’t T20 bingo; it’s high stakes cricket!
Chopra pointed out that LSG’s approach lacked clarity. They didn’t go all guns blazing, nor did they play conservatively. Instead, they meandered along, and the required run rate soared before they crumbled to 200 all out. He quipped in a YouTube video, "Did someone just randomly pick numbers for your batting order? Badoni opening? Really?" It’s a fair point when you’re chasing a massive total.
The former Indian player also urged to see Aiden Markram higher up the order. Coming in at number six, he smashed 42 off just 22 balls, showcasing he could’ve made a real impact if given the chance earlier. Chopra lamented, “Why drop him down again? This isn’t a playground; it’s the IPL!" He also flagged Rishabh Pant’s struggles and Nicholas Pooran’s woeful form, adding that LSG’s chase felt predictable and lacking urgency.
As LSG looks to bounce back, one can only hope they sort their batting order out. The fans deserve a real fight, not a confused shuffle down the order.
