A fiery critique of Delhi Capitals' baffling team selection against CSK.
Former India seamer Dodda Ganesh has thrown serious shade at Delhi Capitals' management after their latest clash with Chennai Super Kings. His main target? The continued selection of Pathum Nissanka, who scored a meagre 19 runs off 15 balls before being dismissed by Mukesh Choudhary. Ganesh's tweet was a masterclass in sarcasm, questioning how a team with so much Indian batting talent can make such puzzling choices.
"There’s so much Indian batting talent available in Delhi’s camp. They can so easily open with Shaw, Rana, or Porel alongside KL, and have Miller in the middle order. Instead, the geniuses play Nissanka at the top and drop Miller. Tell me, how can this be a serious cricket team?" Ganesh fumed. It’s hard not to nod in agreement when you consider that Prithvi Shaw, Nitish Rana, and Abishek Porel are all waiting in the wings, while Nissanka’s IPL stats reflect a player struggling to find form.
With Nissanka's nine-match total of 228 runs at an average of 25.33 and Nitish Rana's solid performance at No. 3, Ganesh’s concerns resonate. Meanwhile, Shaw hasn’t even had a chance to strut his stuff in IPL 2026 yet. As the Capitals look to turn their season around, questions loom: Will they stick with their current strategy, or finally give the Indian talent a chance to shine?
