Manoj Tiwary calls for drastic changes after crushing defeat. Is it time for a shake-up?
The Gujarat Titans are in free fall after a humiliating 99-run loss to the Mumbai Indians, and the pressure is mounting. Captained by Shubman Gill, the Titans now sit sixth on the IPL 2026 points table with just six points from six games. Former India cricketer Manoj Tiwary isn't holding back, demanding the ouster of key players who have failed to deliver when it matters most.
Tiwary pinpointed Rahul Tewatia as a major disappointment, especially after his paltry 8 runs as the Impact Player against MI. With a mere 49 runs in six innings, Tewatia's performance has been abysmal, raising doubts about his retention at ₹4 crore. Alongside him, Shahrukh Khan has also been underwhelming, averaging just 11.67 with 35 runs in six matches. Tiwary insists it’s time for GT to make tough calls if they want to salvage their season.
Adding to the mix, former pacer Mohit Sharma believes Jason Holder should replace Glenn Phillips, whose 67 runs in five innings have hardly made waves. With the next match against RCB looming, the Titans need to rethink their strategy. Will they take Tiwary's advice and shake things up?
