Aakash Chopra Calls for Major Changes in LSG's Line-up Against PBKS

Can Pooran survive the axe as LSG faces a crucial clash on Sunday?

Aakash Chopra is stirring the pot ahead of Lucknow Super Giants' (LSG) clash against Punjab Kings (PBKS) this Sunday, suggesting that it might be time to drop Nicholas Pooran. With just 42 runs in five innings during IPL 2026, Pooran's form has been about as lively as a dead fish. Chopra believes that South African batter Matthew Breetzke could be a better option.

Chopra also wants to see Mayank Yadav step in for Avesh Khan, who’s been more of a liability than an asset with an economy rate of 9.07. "Start with pace, and see what happens," he urged, advocating for a seam-bowling trio of Shami, Prince Yadav, and Yadav. He even threw Himmat Singh into the mix as a potential replacement for Abdul Samad, who’s only managed 72 runs in five outings.

As for PBKS, they’re cruising along nicely, having won four out of five matches. Chopra sees no need for changes in Shreyas Iyer’s squad. Will LSG take the plunge and shake things up, or stick to their struggling stars?
