Latest ICC women's T20I rankings see India closing in on England. Can they catch the Aussies?
Australia still reigns supreme in the women's T20I rankings, clinging to their No.1 spot with 287 points despite losing eight. England follows closely with 275 points, but India is hot on their heels, now boasting 264 points after a slight rise. The gap is shrinking, and it’s a thrilling race to watch!
The recent rankings update has adjusted how matches are valued, with those played since May 2025 getting full weight. Matches from the previous two years are only half as impactful, while any games before April 2023 have been completely discounted. This shake-up hasn't changed the positions of the top 16 teams, so no major surprises there.
New Zealand sits in fourth with 253 points, while South Africa rounds out the top five with 243. The battle for mid-table supremacy is tight; the West Indies (238) and Sri Lanka (237) are neck and neck. Pakistan holds the eighth spot with 216 points, while Ireland just crossed the 200-point mark, edging ahead of Bangladesh, who are now at 199.
As the competition heats up, the USA climbed to 20th place, and Germany surged from 35th to 29th. With 78 teams in the mix, the landscape of women's T20 cricket is evolving rapidly, promising an exciting future. Stay tuned for more action!
